CHERYL STARK
Cheryl Stark is a worship leader, songwriter, vocalist, and pastor with a lifelong passion for helping people encounter Jesus and discover the freedom, identity, and purpose found in Him. Cheryl began leading worship in her hometown in Mississippi during high school and has spent her life at the intersection of the music industry and the local church. She has toured as an artist, songwriter, and professional vocalist and has recorded with artists including Natalie Grant, Matt Maher, Zach Williams, Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, Lady A, and Apollo LTD. Cheryl spent nearly a decade on staff at Cross Point Church in Nashville, where she helped pioneer Cross Point Music and launched a songwriting community that grew to more than 175 songwriters.
Some of the most formative parts of Cheryl’s story, however, have happened far beyond the stage. Becoming a mother to three boys has deeply shaped her faith, and after losing both of her parents—including her mother to cancer—Cheryl later walked through her own battle with cancer. During recovery, she was unable to sing for six months as she healed and rebuilt her voice. Now cancer-free, she carries an even deeper conviction that every breath and every song is a gift, and a desire to testify to the faithfulness and healing power of God.
More than anything, Cheryl longs to see people set free in the love of Jesus so they may discover their God-given identity and purpose and to understand that worship is far more than a moment of music on Sunday. Worship is our response to the greatness of God expressed through the way we live, love, serve, create, and walk through the world.
Today, Cheryl serves as Worship Director at Cornerstone Community Church in Incline Village, Nevada, on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Alongside her husband, Adam, she is passionate about furthering the Kingdom through worship, songwriting, fellowship, and the local church. She and Adam are raising their three sons, Judah, John Paschal, and Beau, and Cheryl’s greatest desire is that her life and her voice would point people back to Jesus.
